PRIMERA LECTURA
No llamaremos ya “nuestro Dios” a la obra de nuestras manos.
Lectura de la profecía de Oseas 14, 2-10
Esto dice el Señor:
«Vuelve, Israel, al Señor tu Dios, porque tropezaste por tu falta.
Tomad vuestras promesas con vosotros y volved al Señor.
Decidle: “Tú quitas toda falta, acepta el pacto.
Pagaremos con nuestra confesión:
Asiria no nos salvará, no volveremos a montar a caballo, y no llamaremos ya “nuestro Dios” a la obra de nuestras manos.
En ti el huérfano encuentra compasión”
“Curaré su deslealtad, los amaré generosamente, porque mi ira se apartó de ellos.
Seré para Israel como rocío, florecerá como lirio, echará sus raíces como los cedros del Líbano.
Brotarán sus retoños y será será su esplendor como el olivo y su perfume corno el Líbano.
Regresarán los que habitaban a su sombra, revivirán como el trigo, florecerán como la viña, será su renombre como la del vino del Líbano.
Efraín, ¿qué tengo que ver con los ídolos?
Yo soy quien le respondo y lo vigila. Yo soy como un abeto siempre verde, de mí procede tu fruto.
¿Quién será sabio, para comprender estas cosas, inteligente, para conocerlas?
Porque los caminos del Señor son rectos: los justos los transitan, pero lo traidores tropiezan en ellos».
Palabra de Dios.

R. Yo soy el Señor, Dios tuyo: escucha mi voz.
Oigo un lenguaje desconocido:
«Retiré sus hombros de la carga,
y sus manos dejaron la espuerta.
Clamaste en la aflicción, y te libré. R.
Te respondí oculto entre los truenos,
te puse a prueba junto a la fuente de Meribá.
Escucha, pueblo mío, doy testimonio contra ti;
¡ojalá me escuchases, Israel! R.
No tendrás un dios extraño,
no adorarás un dios extranjero;
yo soy el Señor, Dios tuyo,
que te saqué del país de Egipto. R.
¡Ojalá me escuchase mi pueblo
y caminase Israel por mi camino!
Los alimentaría con flor de harina,
te saciaría con miel silvestre». R.

EVANGELIO
El Señor, nuestro Dios, es el único Señor, y lo amarás.
Lectura del santo Evangelio según san Marcos 12, 28b-34
En aquel tiempo, un escriba se acercó a Jesús y le preguntó:
«¿Qué mandamiento es el primero de todos?».
Respondió Jesús:
«El primero es: “Escucha, Israel, el Señor, nuestro Dios, es el único Señor: amarás al Señor, tu Dios, con todo tu corazón, con toda tu alma, con toda tu mente, con todo tu ser”. El segundo es este: “Amarás a tu prójimo como a ti mismo”. No hay mandamiento mayor que éstos».
El escriba replicó:
«Muy bien, Maestro, sin duda tienes razón cuando dices que el Señor es uno solo y no hay otro fuera de él; y que amarlo con todo el corazón, con todo el entendimiento y con todo el ser, y amar al prójimo como a uno mismo vale más que todos los holocaustos y sacrificios».
Jesús, viendo que había respondido sensatamente, le dijo:
«No estás lejos del reino de Dios».
Y nadie se atrevió a hacerle más preguntas.

as offerings the bullocks from our stalls.
Assyria will not save us,
nor shall we have horses to mount;
We shall say no more, ‘Our god,’
to the work of our hands;
for in you the orphan finds compassion.”
I will heal their defection, says the LORD,
I will love them freely;
for my wrath is turned away from them.
I will be like the dew for Israel:
he shall blossom like the lily;
He shall strike root like the Lebanon cedar,
and put forth his shoots.
His splendor shall be like the olive tree
and his fragrance like the Lebanon cedar.
Again they shall dwell in his shade
and raise grain;
They shall blossom like the vine,
and his fame shall be like the wine of Lebanon.
Ephraim! What more has he to do with idols?
I have humbled him, but I will prosper him.
“I am like a verdant cypress tree”–
Because of me you bear fruit!
Let him who is wise understand these things;
let him who is prudent know them.
Straight are the paths of the LORD,
in them the just walk,
but sinners stumble in them.

And when Jesus saw that he answered with understanding,

LECTURE DU JOUR
Lecture du livre du prophète Osée
(Os 14, 2-10)
Ainsi parle le Seigneur :
Reviens, Israël, au Seigneur ton Dieu ;
car tu t’es effondré par suite de tes fautes.
Revenez au Seigneur
en lui présentant ces paroles :
« Enlève toutes les fautes, et accepte ce qui est bon.
Au lieu de taureaux, nous t’offrons en sacrifice
les paroles de nos lèvres.
Puisque les Assyriens ne peuvent pas nous sauver,
nous ne monterons plus sur des chevaux,
et nous ne dirons plus à l’ouvrage de nos mains :
“Tu es notre Dieu”,
car de toi seul l’orphelin reçoit de la tendresse. »
Voici la réponse du Seigneur :
Je les guérirai de leur infidélité,
je les aimerai d’un amour gratuit,
car ma colère s’est détournée d’Israël.
Je serai pour Israël comme la rosée,
il fleurira comme le lis,
il étendra ses racines comme les arbres du Liban.
Ses jeunes pousses vont grandir,
sa parure sera comme celle de l’olivier,
son parfum, comme celui de la forêt du Liban.
Ils reviendront s’asseoir à son ombre,
ils feront revivre le froment,
ils fleuriront comme la vigne,
ils seront renommés comme le vin du Liban.
Éphraïm ! Peux-tu me confondre avec les idoles ?
C’est moi qui te réponds et qui te regarde.
Je suis comme le cyprès toujours vert,
c’est moi qui te donne ton fruit.
Qui donc est assez sage
pour comprendre ces choses,
assez pénétrant pour les saisir ?
Oui, les chemins du Seigneur sont droits :
les justes y avancent,
mais les pécheurs y trébuchent.
ÉVANGILE DU JOUR
Évangile de Jésus Christ selon saint Marc
(Mc 12, 28b- 34)
En ce temps-là,
un scribe s’avança vers Jésus pour lui demander :
« Quel est le premier de tous les commandements ? »
Jésus lui fit cette réponse :
« Voici le premier :
Écoute, Israël :
le Seigneur notre Dieu est l’unique Seigneur.
Tu aimeras le Seigneur ton Dieu
de tout ton cœur, de toute ton âme,
de tout ton esprit et de toute ta force.
Et voici le second :
Tu aimeras ton prochain comme toi-même.
Il n’y a pas de commandement plus grand que ceux-là. »
Le scribe reprit :
« Fort bien, Maître, tu as dit vrai :
Dieu est l’Unique
et il n’y en a pas d’autre que lui.
L’aimer de tout son cœur,
de toute son intelligence, de toute sa force,
et aimer son prochain comme soi-même,
vaut mieux que toute offrande d’holocaustes et de sacrifices. »
Jésus, voyant qu’il avait fait une remarque judicieuse, lui dit :
« Tu n’es pas loin du royaume de Dieu. »
Et personne n’osait plus l’interroger.

Leitura da Profecia de Oséias

Assim fala o Senhor Deus:
Volta, Israel, para o Senhor, teu Deus,
porque estavas caído em teu pecado.
Vós todos, encontrai palavras
e voltai para o Senhor;
dizei-lhe: ‘Livra-nos de todo o mal
e aceita este bem
que oferecemos; o fruto de nossos lábios.
A Assíria não nos salvará;
não queremos montar nossos cavalos,
não chamaremos mais ‘Deuses nossos’
a produtos de nossas mãos;
em ti encontrará o órfão misericórdia.’
‘Hei de curar sua perversidade
e me será fácil amá-los,
deles afastou-se a minha cólera.
Serei como orvalho para Israel;
ele florescerá como o lírio
e lançará raízes como plantas do Líbano.
Seus ramos hão de estender-se;
será seu esplendor como o da oliveira,
e seu perfume como o do Líbano.
Voltarão a sentar-se à minha sombra
e a cultivar o trigo,
e florescerão como a videira,
cuja fama se iguala à do vinho do Líbano.
Que tem ainda Efraim a ver com ídolos?
Sou eu que o atendo e que olho por ele.
Sou como o cipreste sempre verde:
de mim procede o teu fruto.
Compreenda estas palavras o homem sábio,
reflita sobre elas o bom entendedor!
São retos os caminhos do Senhor
e, por eles, andarão os justos,
enquanto os maus ali tropeçam e caem.
